Tinto Del Toro Vine

Toro is located in the province of Zamora in the west of the political region of Castilla y León.

Tinto Del Toro is the principal grape of Toro. Almost all the wine produced in Toro is 100% Tinto Del Toro.

Tinto Del Toro is a clone of Tempranillo and is said to be very suited to the climate and soil in Toro. The summer days are hot but the nights can cool significantly.

Other varietals are Garnacha, Malvasía and Verdejo. Some Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown but only in very small amounts.

Toro wines are known for their full fruit flavors and dark colors.

Winemakers suggested that a Toro wine be given time to “breathe.” It should be opened at least 30 minutes before drinking.

There are some 55 Bodegas in the Toro DO.
