Guacamole Recipe
This recipe is base on my Dad's recipe for Guacamole. I have
altered it just a bit to reduce some of the heat. This
is so much better than the prepared Guacamole you will find
in supermarkets and delis. Once you try this recipe, you
will never buy another store-bought Guacamole. Oh yes,
get some good plain torilla chips to go with the Guacamole.
Ingredients
- Three medium ripe avocados
diced into 1/2 inch cubes
- One ripe red tomato, chopped into ¼ inch pieces or
smaller
- 1/2 a white onion, minced
- 2 TBS of minced cilantro
- 2 Serrano peppers, minced; seeds and veins removed for
less heat
- Juice of one lime
- 2 TBS of extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt, or to taste
In a bowl mix all the ingredients. Be careful not to smash the
avocados. Serve with delicious tortilla chips. Usually,
a Margarita cocktail is the beverage of choice to serve
with Guacamole. This time, try a delicious white wine that
goes nicely with avocados and the spices.
