Fall Colors in Wine Country
In Search of Fall Foilage in the Vineyards
Fall is the most beautiful time of the year in wine country. We
have created this “Watch” page to track the
fall colors in wine country. Email
your photos and/or locations where
fall color is spectacular in the vineyards. We will post them here.
Thank you!

Fall colors are peaking in some places in Paso Robles wine country
but in 2 weeks should hit max. Try Pomar Junction Winery and Pear
Valley Vineyard for some panoramic views. Take a drive on Willow
Creek Road for some spectacular views.

One of the best places to see a variety of fall foliage in the vineyards
is Walling Road in Dry Creek Valley. It is off Canyon Road in Geyserville.
Walling Road meets Canyon Road at Pedroncelli winery. Drive from
here to Frick Winery about a mile and half away. This shot was taken
from the ridge across from Pedroncelli.

My husband and I just went to Shadow Ranch Winery and Toogood
Estate Winery in the Fairplay area of El Dorado County. Both are
off of Mt. Aukum Road (E16) on Fair Play Road. Toogood has a nice
view because it's on top of a higher hill.
There's still some green in the area especially as you drive south towards Shenandoah
Road and Amador County. Tim was right in his post on Oct. 15, the vineyards are
starting to change and will probably peak by this weekend. |

Vineyards on Spring Mountain will start to show colors in about two
weeks time.
From Lin on Oct. 16:
One
of the most beautiful settings in the Sonoma Valley for Fall colors
is the old Pagani Ranch, about one mile north of the junction of Hwy
12 and Dunbar Road. It's along Hwy 12. You'll find zinfandel vines
that are at least a century old and right along side the highway is
Alacante, said by locals to be more than 110 years old.
In the
Alexander Valley, we've found some stunning Fall colors over the
years along Alexander Valley Road to the south of Red Winery Road.
The view from the tasting room at Hanna Winery is breathtaking - any
time of year.
From Tim on Oct. 15
On Shendandoah School Road near Montevina, the vineyards will peak
in one week.
