Day One Visiting Organic Wineries in Dry Creek Valley:

Quivira Vineyards
At Quivira Vineyards you will find a garden of 120 vegetable beds and 40 acres of vineyards all farmed biodynamically. The winery also has a set of solar energy panels that supply all the electricity to run the winery. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Quivira and taste some delicious wines. Our favorites: The Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Barrel Complete and the 2005 Wine Creek Zinfandel.

Tasting room open daily, 11 to 5 pm. (800)-292-8339, e-mail:quivira@quivirawine.com

Michel-Schlumberger
Michel-Schlumberger features delicious Bordeaux style wines, particularly a wonderful handcrafted Cabernet Sauvignon from their estate Dry Creek organically farmed vineyards. This is a beautiful winery located on Wine Creek Road. Schedule a vineyard walk and tour and you will be delighted.

Tasting Room is open by appointment only, 800-447-3060

Montemaggiore
Montemaggiore is a small 1000-case-production winery run by husband and wife team Vince and Lisa Ciolino. Vince does the farming while Lisa is the winemaker. Montemaggiore specializes in Syrah, making three different styles. These are absolutely amazing wines and often sell out. All the wines come from their estate biodynamically-farmed vineyards.  The winery is located back in the western hills of the Dry Creek Valley.

Open by appointment only; we highly suggest you visit this fantastic winery.

Day Two Visiting Organic Wineries in Dry Creek Valley:

Truett Hurst
This winery was purchased a year ago from the Martin Family Vineyards. Paul Dolan is a leader in sustainable farming and is the new owner of this winery. The winery is currently a work in progress with the goal of producing the finest wines from biodynamic vines. The vineyards are in the process of being replanted with Zinfandel and Petit Sirah. The tasting room and winery have been remodeled and visitors will get a chance to see the beginnings of premium wine production.

Preston Vineyards
This winery is the first winery in the Dry Creek Valley to practice organic farming. Besides the organically grown grapes and the great wines, Preston also bakes bread and makes olive oil. You will find the tasting room to be very cozy and appealing. They also have a beautiful picnic area and Bocce courts.

Tasting room open daily 11 to 4:30 pm (800) 305 9707, e-mail: mail@prestonvineyards.com

Hawley Vineyards & Winery
John Hawley and his family work this winery and make 5000 cases of wine annually. This is a hidden gem of a winery producing absolutely outstanding Viognier. All the estate vineyards are organically certified.

Tasting Room is open by appointment, but if you happen to drop by, you more than likely will find someone there to open the tasting room. (707) 431-2705, e-mail: info@hawleywine.com.
